ATTINY88 Module - Arduino Nano Alternative, Cheap, Smaller & Less Powerfull

ATTINY88 Module - Arduino Nano Alternative, Cheap, Smaller & Less Powerfull

MH-Tiny ATTINY 88 development module NANO v3.0 micro USB Extended Digispark ATTINY85 Upgraded for Arduino SPI/IIC/Serial port

The MH-ET LIVE ATTiny88 is an Attiny88-based microcontroller development board similar to the Arduino Nano; it's a little cheaper due to the microcontroller being slightly less powerful than the ATmega328.

ATTINY88-MOD-004

With the ability to use the Arduino IDE, the MH-ET LIVE ATTiny88 is a great alternative board to jump into electronics or perfect for when other boards are too big or unnecessarily too powerful.

Quick Spec

  • Support for the Arduino IDE 1.0+ and upwards (OSX/Win/Linux)
  • Power via USB or External Source: 5v or 7-35v (12v or less recommended, automatic selection)
  • On-board 50mA 5V Regulator
  • Built-in USB
  • 26 I/O Pins (2 are used for USB only if your program actively communicates over USB, otherwise you can use all 6 even if you are programming via USB)
  • 8K Flash Memory (about 6K is available after boot-loader)
  • I2C and SPI
  • 26 PWM (26 pins with Software PWM, only two(D9,10) with hardware PWM)
  • ADC on 8 pins
  • Power LED and Test/Status LED
  • Dimensions: 44.8 x 18.5 x 4.2mm
  • Net Weight: 6g

Pinout:

Installation Instructions:

 First, download the appropriate Arduino package at the Arduino. cc website: https://www.arduino.cc/en/Main/Software
 If using Arduino 1.6.6 or higher and windows - you will need to download andĀ install the drivers manually. Download, unzip and run ā€œInstall Driversā€ (on 32bitĀ systems) or ā€œDPInst64ā€ (on 64bit systems). The driver files are locatedĀ Ā here:Ā https://github.com/MHEtLive/MHEtLiveArduino/releases/download/1.0.0/
2.0a4.rar
 Install or Unzip the Arduino application.
 Run the Arduino application.
 In the Arduino application go to the ā€œFileā€ menu and select ā€œPreferencesā€, In theĀ Ā box labeled ā€œAdditional Boards Manager URLsā€ enter:
https://raw.githubusercontent.com/MHEtLive/arduino-boards-index/master/p
ackage_mhetlive_index.jsonĀ and click OK;

 Go to the ā€œToolsā€ menu and then the ā€œBoardā€ submenu - select ā€œBoardsĀ Managerā€ and then from the Type drop-down select ā€œContributedā€:
 Select the ā€œMH-ET LIVE Boardsā€ package and click the ā€œInstallā€ button.
 You'll see the download progress on the bottom bar of the ā€œBoards Managerā€Ā window, when complete it will show ā€œInstalledā€ next to that item on the list.
 WINDOWS USERS: When completing the install pop up a Driver Install WizardĀ Ā window, please click ā€œNextā€ on this Window to install the drivers for MH-ET LIVE
Boards (If you already have them installed, this installer will update them andĀ install any that are missing).
 With the installation complete, close the ā€œBoards Managerā€ window and select theĀ MH-ET LIVE Boards ā€œMH-ET LIVE Tiny88(16.0Mhz)ā€ from the Tools→BoardsĀ menu.
 Choose the example that comes with the Arduino IDE: Select the development board as MH-ET LIVE Tiny88 in the toolbar, open the program in File >>Example >> Basic>>Blink, and change the port 13 in the program to 0. Port, compile, and download into the MH-ET LIVE Tiny88(16.0Mhz) according to the above method, it can be seen that the onboard LED light flashes according to the
frequency specified by the program. (note: When downloading the program, doĀ not connect the module first, wait for the prompt to insert the module afterĀ compiling, then plug it in and wait for the automatic download to complete).
